<p>Data loss occurs when queue is full or cache memory of router is full</p>

<p>Due to 4 reasons we have delays</p>
<ol>
<li>Transmission delay -&gt;  (packet length)/(link transmission rate)</li>
<li>Propogation delay -&gt; (length of physical link)/(propogation speed)</li>
<li>Queue delay -&gt; Time when packet waits in queue</li>
<li>Nodal processing delay -&gt; Time for detecting errors in packets</li>

<p>Rate at which data is sent from sender to reciever</p>
